Contemporary Art in the Spotlight
Lakritz Contemporary Art Studio Gallery in Chintsa East, Eastern Cape, invites emerging contemporary artists—both from South Africa and internationally—to submit their work for a group exhibition running from 28 June to 20 July 2025, coinciding with the Chintsa Winter Festival.
Selected artists will be featured in Lakritz THE MAGAZINE (digital publication, June & July editions) and promoted on Facebook and Instagram.
About the Initiative
As a studio gallery and practicing contemporary artist, I am embarking on an exciting new adventure. I firmly believe in expanding South Africa’s art market beyond Cape Town and Johannesburg. This vision can only be realized through a sustained program of exhibitions and art talks, bringing exposure to areas where access to contemporary art is limited.
This exhibition aims to offer a platform for emerging artists across all contemporary mediums, including immersive outdoor art, to gain visibility, build new audiences, and foster the next generation of art lovers and collectors.
Art is a catalyst for thought and transformation—it is essential in shaping a dynamic and engaged society.
Submission Guidelines
- Complete the submission form
- Submit up to five high-quality JPG images (free of charge)
- Artists are responsible for the transportation of selected works to and from the gallery
