Where Awareness Becomes Action

Forest of Return is Lakritz’s commitment to turning awareness into action. Rooted in the belief that culture and ecology are deeply connected, the project focuses on restoring indigenous forest ecosystems and creating a living legacy for future generations.

Much of the region’s original forest was lost through land transformation and agricultural development. Forest of Return seeks to reverse this process by reintroducing indigenous trees and rebuilding biodiversity, one planting at a time. Each tree contributes not only to ecological restoration but also to a broader vision of environmental stewardship, education, and community involvement.

More than a reforestation initiative, Forest of Return is an invitation to participate in renewal. Visitors, collectors, artists, supporters, and local communities are encouraged to become active contributors to the landscape, helping to create a forest that will continue to grow long into the future.

The project reflects the same values that guide Lakritz: patience, creativity, responsibility, and long-term thinking. Just as a work of art develops through layers, time, and care, a forest is built through commitment, vision, and collective effort.

As the forest grows, it will become a place of learning, reflection, and connection—a space where people can experience the resilience of nature and better understand their relationship with the environment.

The garden can be visited during Lakritz Contemporary’s regular opening hours or by appointment. Entry is free, though a small donation in the honesty box is always appreciated to help us maintain and grow this unique space.
