Music 1: Elize in the Park

The stage is set with a backdrop depicting a serene park. Elize enters from stage right, carrying a sun umbrella.
Elize enters from stage right, portraying elegance and poise. Elize walks along the path, her movements graceful, taking in the beauty of her surroundings. Elize nods politely as she passes acquaintances, acknowledging them with a slight bow of her head. Elize stops at various groups of women, engaging in conversation with them. Her interactions are warm and animated. Elize changes her course, heading towards her friends with a smile on her face. Elize reaches her girlfriends and joins them under the tree, the sound of their laughter filling the scene.
Music 2: Ludwig arrives at the Park
Beethoven: Symphony No.1 in C Major, Op 21 Adagio molto – allegro con brio
Ludwig, a young man in his Sunday’s best, enters the park with his friends. They stroll through the meadow and along the path, laughter echoing in the air. More young men join them along the way. Ludwig spots Elize ahead of him.
Ludwig to his friends: Let’s have some fun!
They playfully dart through the woods, hiding behind trees, laughter and excitement fueling their game. Finally, they reach a clearing where the girls have gathered. Ludwig emerges from his hiding spot and steps forward, introducing himself.
Music 3: Romance
Beethoven: Symphony No.6 in F Op.68 Pastoral Part 5
Elize and Ludwig, deeply in love. The air crackles with their intense passion, flames of love igniting between them, reaching their peak. They are drawn together by an irresistible force. Unspoken desire and affection ends in turmoil.
Music 4: The Argument
Beethoven: Symphony No.8 in F major Op.93 – Allegretto scherzando
Elize and Ludwig are in the midst of a heated argument, their voices escalating with each passing moment. Initially, Elize is the one initiating the conflict, but as Ludwig tries to mediate, he too becomes increasingly agitated. The tension between them mounts, a turbulent sea of emotions are swirling. As the argument intensifies, the atmosphere grows darker, shadows lengthening ominously. The threat of disaster looms over them, palpable in the charged air. They exchange words like weapons, each sentence adding fuel to the fiery exchange. The music ends with a sense of unresolved conflict.
